(See printed handbook for complete list off rules)

1. All students must be enrolled for one unit of credit in their school string or orchestra class if a class is offered at the school they attend. No exceptions will be made for this rule.

2. Sponsorship for Region and All State Orchestras is the responsibility of the school string orchestra teacher. In schools were there is no class offered, sponsorship may be assumed by the private teacher. An orchestra conductor who conducts an orchestra outside of a school situation may assume responsibility for sponsorship only if there is no string class at the student's school and if the student does not study privately with an SCMEA Orchestra Division member. The sponsoring teacher in all classes must be a member of the SCMEA Orchestra Division by the date the application is submitted.

3. All sponsoring string teachers will serve as chaperones for their students at all activities: NO exceptions. Strings teachers from the same school district may serve as chaperones for students within their district with school and Orchestra Division Executive Board approval provided no person chaperones more then ten students. The chaperone must be in attendance for all activities during the All State weekend. Students may not be left unchaperoned at any activity. Any questions or exceptions to rules concerning sponsorship/chaperones must be in writing to the Orchestra Division Exucutive Board. They must be submitted by noon Friday of the SCMEA in Service Conference in February.
